Stainless Steel Countertops in North Platte, NE

Do you have standard formica countertops that take a lot of abuse? Are they so worn you are embarrassed when customers see them?

A local quality control laboratory that tests sand and gravel needed a countertop that was able to withstand abrasion and heat. Stainless steel met the requirements. I had a local fabrication shop custom bend the stainless steel to fit the plywood substructure. I added aluminum deck plate back splashes and skirts. Everything is easy to clean, durable and low maintenance. This was a nice improvement to what was a not impresssive work space.

Storage Shelving in North Platte, NE

Do you park your car in the drive because there is no room in the garage? Is your storage shed so full you can't cram another thing in it?

The photos show a 10' x 12' storage shed that was completely full with no more room. By adding three 8' long shelves , 48 square feet of additional storage space was gained by vertical utilization. These three shelves created a 40% increase in usable space by simply adding shelving! This was only one side of the shed. The shelving hardware is adjustable and heavy duty rated. The six bags of fertilizer weigh a total of 300 lbs.

If you have room on the sides or front of your garage or shed for shelving, imagine how much more organized and neat your life can be. Shelves can be 6" up-to 24" wide and as long as will fit. A tool hanger or hooks for brooms, shovels, rakes and hoes is an easy place to begin.

Weather Stripping

Damaged or worn out weather stripping allows air infiltration which increases your heating or cooling bill. I can replace weather stripping which will save you money.

Door Locks and Deadbolts

Does your door latch easily? Is it hard to lock or unlock? Not all door locks are equal. Locks are graded by how many cycles or times they will be opened in their lifetime. Grade 1 locks are used in institutional buildings (schools) Grade 2 locks are built for commercial buildings. Grade 3 locks are rated for residential use. The locks at your local home improvement store are graded by A, B or C with C being good, B being better and A being best. Don't let this A,B,C rating mislead you. These locks rarely last more than 5 years. One of my client's original locks wore out after 6 years. You need to spend around $100 for a quality lock. Higher quality locks are available from a local supplier who specializes in architectural hardware. Amazon also sells good quality locks.

I replaced the locks on my house and garage with Grade 2 Schlage lever locks. These cost nearly $200 each but will last my life time. These locks can be re-keyed at the local locksmith shop. The lever locks are much easier to open than knob locks for seniors with grip issues.

Hinges

Do the hinges on your door have dark streaks of dust on the barrel? This indicates the hinges are needing oil or they may be worn enough to cause the door to sag and need replaced. Replacing hinges is an easy inexpensive fix to eliminate sagging and also fixes the latch bolt not hitting the strike plate correctly.

Storm Doors

Do you have a storm door that is needing replaced? Most storm doors are either 32" or 36" wide. I can install a new door for you. I will pick it up from the local store if you are not able to haul it.

Sliding Doors

Sliding doors have rollers that ride in a track. The most common problems are the rollers are worn, out of adjustment, need oiled or the track is dirty. I can clean the track, adjust/oil the rollers or replace the rollers if they are available.

New Doors

Is your existing entry door past the point of repair? Do you want to improve curb appeal and energy use? New entry doors are foam insulated and much more secure than older hollow core doors. I can install a new door for you. I will pick it up from the local store if you are not able to haul it.

I also replace interior doors. If you wish to keep the existing frame/trim, I have the tools to prep the new door blank to fit your frame.

I can inspect, lubricate and adjust all your doors to eliminate squeaky hinges and doors that don't latch correctly.
